McLaren has rolled out a new special edition of its 750S, and you’ll need a Japanese address if you want one. Called the JC96, this limited-run model pays homage to the brand’s triumph in the 1996 All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship, when the McLaren F1 GTR clinched the Drivers’ title.
Only 61 examples will be built, each carrying a distinctive “Tiger Stripe” livery inspired by the legendary race car. Lightweight 15-spoke forged wheels, bespoke aero pieces, and gloss-black accents on the roof and diffuser further set the JC96 apart. Gold brake calipers stamped with the McLaren logo add a touch of motorsport glam.
Buyers can pick from a curated palette that includes Memphis Red, Titanium Silver, Ice White, and Graphite Grey—or dive into McLaren’s bespoke paint program if they’re after something more offbeat. Inside, the cockpit is drenched in Alcantara, with embroidered “JC96” headrests, gold detailing on the pedals, and a commemorative plaque celebrating the 1996 title.
The JC96 is available as both Coupe and Spider, and for the first time, Spider buyers can option McLaren Special Operations’ High Downforce Kit. This package swaps in a larger splitter, active rear spoiler, and louvred under-wing panel, boosting downforce by around 10 percent over the standard 750S.
Mechanically, nothing changes—McLaren stuck with the proven 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, delivering 740 hp and 590 lb-ft through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Expect a top speed of 206 mph, just like the standard car.
McLaren hasn’t revealed exact timing, but given the 30-year anniversary tie-in, expect first deliveries to line up neatly with 2026.
