Ringbrothers’ Octavia: A 1971 Aston Martin DBS Reborn as a Jaw-Dropping Restomod
Picture this: a 1971 Aston Martin DBS, but not as you know it. The Ringbrothers Octavia is what happens when you take classic British cool, inject it with modern muscle, and sprinkle in some 007 swagger. Unveiled at The Quail 2025, this thing is so stunning, even Bond would ditch his DB5 for it.

From Simple Restomod to Full-Blown Masterpiece
What started as a "let’s refresh an old Aston" turned into a full ground-up rebuild—only the power window switches survived from the original car. The Wisconsin-based Ringbrothers team got a dream brief: "Go wild." And boy, did they deliver.
Bond, James Bond: The Little Touches That Make It Iconic
This car doesn’t just nod to 007—it winks at him. Check out these details:
Paint: "Double-O Silver" (because of course)
Dipstick handle: A martini glass with an actual olive
Handbrake lever: Shaped like a chrome handgun
Valve covers: Say "Aston Martini" instead of "Aston Martin"
License plate: "SHAKN" (Shaken, not stirred, naturally)
Name: "Octavia," a sly nod to Octopussy
Brutal Power Meets Timeless Style
Under that sculpted hood? A supercharged 5.0L Ford Coyote V8 pumping out 805 horsepower, hooked to a 6-speed manual—pure driver’s bliss. The chassis got stretched 3 inches longer, while the track widened (8 inches up front, 10 in the rear) to fit those aggressive custom HRE wheels.
Suspension: Fox RS SV coilovers, tuned by Roadster Shop
Brakes: 14-inch Brembos (because stopping is kind of important)
Next-Level Craftsmanship: Carbon, 3D Printing & Luxury
Carbon fiber everywhere (lightweight + strong)
3D-printed stainless steel parts (shift knob, badges, even the headrest collars)
Auto-dimming sunshades (tech meets elegance)
Interior: A mix of billet aluminum, brass, and leather—007’s lounge on wheels
Monterey Car Week Debut & What’s Next
The Octavia made its grand entrance at Monterey Car Week (a first for Ringbrothers) before heading to final tuning. Next stop? SEMA in November. Price? "If you have to ask…" But with 12,000 hours of work, it’s a rolling work of art.
As Jim Ring of Ringbrothers put it:
"We asked, ‘What would an MI6 agent drive on vacation?’ This is what we came up with."
The verdict? A perfect blend of American muscle, British class, and pure imagination. One thing’s for sure—you won’t forget this car.
