The Italian restomod virtuosos at Totem Automobili have saved the best for last. They’ve just pulled the covers off the GT Super SP (Sport Prototipo), a final, heart-pounding tribute to classic Alfa Romeo that they claim doesn't just rival the modern Giulia Quadrifoglio—it leaves it in the dust.
This isn't just a car; it's an ultra-exclusive piece of automotive art. Totem will build only ten for the entire world, and they introduced the very first prototype at the prestigious Quail Gathering during Monterey Car Week.
Under the Skin: Where Art Meets Insane Performance
Sculpted from Carbon: True to its racing spirit, the entire body is hand-crafted from lightweight carbon fiber. The debut car wears a gorgeous deep maroon finish, perfectly set off by warm bronze accents on the wheels, grille, and mirrors.
Brutish and Wide: The SP isn't subtle. It's been stretched 130 mm (over 5 inches) wider than its sibling, thanks to dramatic carbon fiber wheel arches that give it a terrifyingly planted stance.
The Sound of Fury: In a brilliant move, Totem partnered with experts at Capristo to reroute the exhaust from the back to the sides. This roaring side-exit setup allowed them to craft a massive new carbon rear diffuser for better performance.
Heart of a Beast: The soul of this machine is a monstrous 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, pumping out a staggering 739 horsepower. It’s a technical marvel, featuring individual throttle bodies and advanced fuel injection.
The Pure Joy of Driving: In a world of automatics, the SP keeps it real. All that power is managed solely by a custom six-speed manual gearbox, complete with an gorgeous, clunky-clicky gated shifter made from billet aluminum.
A Chassis Reborn: Totem didn't just drop in a big engine. They completely re-engineered the car from the ground up with new subframes, suspension geometry, and electronically adjustable coilovers to make it handle as good as it looks.
A Driver's Cocoon: Inside, it’s a mix of luxury and race-ready intent. Carbon fiber bucket seats, blue Alcantara, and a carbon transmission tunnel surround the driver. The custom steering wheel even has a "boost" button for an extra shot of power.
The GT Super SP is the magnificent finale to Totem's five-year journey, a breathtaking sendoff that celebrates everything we love about driving.
